Clone Wars Season 4: I feel like this season was relentless and I was exhausted just watching it. Clusterfuck at Umbara (Hardcase! WAXER!) with friendly fire and a Jedi general betrayal. Slavery. Obi-Wan faking his death and going undercover and making the extremely poor life-choice of not telling Anakin. I mean, I know the show did it for the drama but for Obi-Wan to be like 'Anakin's reaction sold it' was ridiculous since I'm pretty sure Anakin could fake being angry and the sniper ran the heck away after taking the shot and also Obi-Wan basically immediately replaced the sniper so he could have just gone out into the bar and said 'ha, I killed a Jedi' and gotten the same reaction. But I enjoyed the weird bounty hunter puzzle box challenge. And then Maul is alive! I still want to know how?! He was cut in half! And became half mechanical spider which gave me some Shelob's Lair flashbacks. (I always skip that part when I'm rewatching Lord of the Rings.)
The Dragon Prince Season 2 - I enjoy this for the humor and the family feels. But did they really have to kill all the moms? :( I've seen people compare this series to Avatar: The Last Airbender and I can see why. Honestly, I watched all of ATLA but I didn't love it the way most people seem to. I'm enjoying The Dragon Prince more so far.
My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok - I've read this several times and a lot of other novels by Chaim Potok. He has a really spare but emotionally descriptive writing style that I like and does interesting coming of age and struggle with religion themes.
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles - Another diversion from my usual sci-fi/fantasy reading. This was clever and charming. Much more character driven than plot driven but that's not a bad thing.
The Poppy War by R.F.Kuang - I love a character with grit and determination and ruthlessness and Rin definitely fits the bill. Although this got too brutally graphic with some of the violence for me.
I tend to read fic for whatever I'm watching even though it may spoil some later developments for me and Clone Wars is no exception. I have a whole list of Star Wars fic recs to write up soon. But personally I'm apparently shipping Codywan and writing a Soulmate AU. I've always enjoyed soulmate AUs and I'm frankly shocked I've never written one. We'll see how this goes. (How does everyone in fic writing know Mando'a words? Is there a dictionary somewhere?)

*cries*
The faked death thread was bizarre, I agree. It never made much sense.
But OMG, LOL @ Darth Maul. I sort of love his whole story - TBH he's one of my favorite villains and has much more depth to him than I'd realized.
Does this help? http://mandoa.org/
Now that you've seen the Darkness on Umbara, I think I can safely share my favorite CW vid. It has some season 5 clips, but they're vague enough -- the Umbara thing was the only thing I think would've spoiled anything.

Ah, yes, that is perfect! Exactly what I was looking for.
Oh wow, the vid was beautifully done!! So fierce but so sad.
