Murder At the Vicarage, Sleeping Murder, and A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie. More Miss Marple series re-reads. These are enjoyable and quick and I have random memories attached to them, like I got a copy of A Murder is Announced from the small English language section when I traveled to Slovakia. (I kind of wish I'd gotten a book in Slovak but alas!)
Timeline by Michael Crichton. Grad students go back in time to medieval period. Enjoyed this although I felt like I'd read the plot before. Probably similarity to Doomsday Book by Connie Willis. The structure was interesting to me because so many of the scene breaks and POV shifts were so short. I always feel like in my writing my scenes are too short but now I'm like, hey Michael Crichton did this so I'm fine :)
System Collapse by Martha Wells. Murderbot! I continue to love Murderbot and ART and all their humans. This was everything I wanted.
In TV, I finished watching the second seasons of Loki and Our Flag Means Death and I generally liked them but I don't feel at all fannish about them. I did, however, fall EXTREMELY hard for Foundation which is a beautiful sci-fi show on Apple TV. Every character is interesting to me! Every plot line is interesting to me! But no one I know watches it. I discovered it via tumblr gif set, as one does. My ship is canon and they have exactly 6 fics on AO3. I'm writing the 7th and it will be the longest fic in the tag and honestly that's kind of fun and funny to me. New favorite icon of Lee Pace in the gold crop top is from this show (many thanks to
