We want to hear what new canons to investigate. Tell us why that thing is cool. Tell us why you enjoy it so much. Tell us where to start if we want to get into it too (and how to find it if it’s not something mainstream that’s easy to find everywhere). It can be difficult to find fandom friends with shared interests sometimes, but this is your chance to cultivate a shared interest!

I tend to end up in the large fandoms that I'm sure everyone has already heard of, although I'm often years late, but a couple of my small fandoms I was randomly thinking of recently:

Falling Skies -
Post apocalyptic which I enjoy and bonus the apocalypse was aliens. This had Noah Wyle who I loved as Carter in ER (one of my very first fandoms) as a history teacher who becomes a leader in the post apocalyptic scenario. My favorite part was his friendship with the military leader. Kind of an enemies to BFFs. Also, the guy who is Paul Davis in Stargate SG-1 was in this as like the complete opposite of his Stargate character and I think I watched all 5 seasons without recognizing him.

I remember the first few seasons being good and then things went off the rails. There was a hybrid alien baby plot. I kind of want to re-watch this now but apparently it's no longer on Amazon Prime or any streaming that I can find, dang.

Turn: Washington's Spies -
I like the American Revolution and I like spies and this had both. A group of childhood friends become the Culper Spy Ring for Washington. Way more drama than historical accuracy. Jamie Bell is incredibly hapless Abraham Woodhull who just wants to farm his cabbage and is a terrible spy. I was in this for the parts with Ben Tallmadge (dashing cavalry officer and mostly competent spy ring leader) and Caleb Brewster (fun and good-hearted courier). Here's some gifs I made of Caleb and Ben and Caleb & Ben so you can properly understand.

Turn was airing during the rise of Hamilton (and Hamilton is a minor character in later seasons) but the ratings were still super low. If you want to try it, it's all on Netflix.
